Alright, a lot of people are nervious about the Zombie Genocide Master Achievement because it takes A LOT of time and nobody wants to have to start over and do it again. Before i go over the step by step instructions that hundreds of others have posted before me, i will tell you what I have learned.

**EDIT: This guide is my explination of how i achieved 72k kills, I have had many people say that you can just as easily get these kills in other ways, but this is how I did it**

Facts:

*You CAN get this achievement by just using the SUV! No need for Co-Op help or tricks.

*If your playing with the Ninja outfit on the zombies will ignore you even when your driving the SUV, so change into something else so they will all play the roadkill game.

*You dont have to get any zombrex, save any survivors, or complete any case files for this achievement, and you will not get overtime!

*You have till 10am on the 4th day to get 72k. that is way more than enough time and it is way easier than DR1 where as you had to drive a convertable for the kills.

*The game doesnt give you anything special for the Achievement, no mega buster.... :(

Opinions:

*A lot of people think (and I agree) that your Level affects how much damage the SUV does to zombies.

*People also think that your Speed rating will make the SUV go faster as well, but i dont agree with that.

My Experience:

Ok, this Achievement took me two tries, the first one the military arrived and i was down by 7k... So I had to restart.... The second time i did this I got 72k with 7 in game hours to spare! The first time I kept trying new things and attempted to use the dirt bike a lot, the second time I rushed to the Driving mag as soon as the game started and straight to the SUV, I would get 1k then i would go inside and back out for another thousand till i got 10 thousand and i would save.

***HERE IS THE TEST TO SEE IF YOU ARE GETTING KILLS FAST ENOUGH!!!***

Ok, Start in The Yucatan right next to the doors and check your watch, then run outside, grab the SUV, kill 1,000 Zombies then go back to the Yucatan and check your watch. You should be pretty much dead on at one in game hour later. If you arent easily getting 1K kills per in game hour then I suggest you try to level up more until 1K/hr is not a problem for you.

--------------------------------------------

Now if you have already read all the other threads on this Achievement then I have probably told you enough to run out and get this achievement, If you dont know how to do this step by step then im gonna break it down for you right now. This is EXACTLY how i did it!

*Keep in mind that I was at level 50 when i did this, so if your not sure if your leveled up enough, then look above and attempt the test to see if you can do this.*

Step by step Guide:

Preporation:

Ok in order to get 72,000 kills your gonna NEED the keys to the Red Hummer that is on display at the Shamrock Casino on the Silver Strip, Problem is that to Looters have the keys and they want 2 million dollars for the keys.

Time to make 2 Million Dollars in fortune city:

*****************************

You can get the SUV for only $1,600,000 which might save you a couple mins if you so choose, however, this method doesnt help you when it comes to the Big Spender Achievement.

Barganing Book 1 - lowers cost of items in pawn shop by 10%.

Bennie Jack's BBQ Shack. A101 - Food

Second Floor, on a platform at the end of lights hanging from ceiling jump from 2nd floor of BBQ shack to get there.

Barganing Book 2 - lowers cost of items in pawn shop by 10%.

Food Court, Second Floor Above Speedy Expresso. Use the snack machines next to Lombardi's to get above.

*****************************

Ok, as soon as you start the game, one thing that will make this easier is the Ninja outfit so the zombies will leave you alone while your gambling your life away, if not, then you will wanna make yourself a couple nail bats and bring some Orange Juice or something cause the undead will not leave you alone!

Now before you hit the slots, it is a big help if you get the three gambling Magazines!

The first one is in Ragazines on the 2nd floor of the Royal Flush Plaza (where the safe room is)

The second one is on the 2nd floor of Palisades Mall in Stan's Large Print Books

The third one is on the Sliver Strip in Shamrock Casino (where the Red Hummer is) Look for the magazine behind the Bar all the way in the back.

Win Big!:

After you have all three magazines its time to go to the Slot Ranch Casino. Directly to the left of the hallway that takes you to the Food Court is a GIANT PINK slot machine that has the option to bet $100 with the button to the left of $1,000 on the button to the right. This is gonna take a LONG time, but keep betting a thousand over and over and over until you win 2 mil. You will loose many times on this slot machine, but you will win money faster than your loosing, before long you will be winning 50k and 100k every now and then.

Claim Your Prize!:

After you win $2,000,000 you need to go to Tinkerbox (directly across the street from where the Red Hummer is) Buy the keys to the SUV, then save your game! after you save, go to the load screen and tell it to restart the story.

Go back in time to where this all started!:

Before you freak out, YES, you will still have the keys to the SUV when you restart, You went back in time with them! (If you are wearing the Ninja outfit, change into something else, you dont want the zombies to ignore you when your trying to run them all over) As soon as you have control of Chuck you need to rush out to the mall and hang a right to go to the Americana Casino, once there, go to Bennie Jack's BBQ Shack and grab the Driving Magazine located right next to the soda machines up front. go outside, (you cant go through the arena, the gates are down for some reason...) and grab the Dirt bike thats in front of the Arena, (yes you had the keys for it with you when you went back in time) drive it straight to the Yucatan Casino. (there will be a cutscene and you will be attacked by the tiger and a crazy person) RUN back outside!!! (that way they wont bother you later) once outside make your way to the SUV, but before you get there go ahead and grab the sword in the stone (rolls eyes) directly before you get to the Shamrock Casino (that way you have some protection) if you need health grab a beer on the cart right by the SUV.

Time to grind...

Ok, now its time to kill a lot of zombies, here is the way you do this, turn left and constantly aim for the biggest crowds of zombies, dont worry about any set path, sometimes i would make 4 or five cirlces in areas if there are lots of zombies, make your way all the way to the arena, then back to the middle, and once you have about 900 kills, start making your way back to the Yucatan, once you have 1,000 kills go inside the Yucatan then back outside so all the zombies you killed come back (this should take you roughly 1 in game hour, keep in mind that more zombies come out at night and more come out in the later days) Once you have 10,000 kills go to the middle and save your game, quit, then reload and run to the utility cart that is in front of the hotel and rush back to the SUV and keep it up! Ignore any survivors (or even try to run them over if you want) and when Leon comes, try to hit him a few times as your doing your runs till he dies, he is weak from the sides. when the rednecks come with the sniper rifles later on, just ignore them, they wont bother you as long as your in your SUV.

**EDIT: I have been told that you can just as easily save your game after every 1 thousand kills, re-load, then jump in the cart to go back to the SUV to reset the zombies when they thin out, I have also been told that this method can be faster. The plus side to this method is that the survivors and the psychopaths will never bother you (they didnt give me any problems) The only bad side: well... If you just so happen to be saving your game and the power goes out, you can loose everything... you will have to save 71 times as opposed to 6 times..

Thats it!

If you followed this guide then you will DEFINATELY get the achievement no worries! Try not to let the bordom get to you, when i did this, i muted the game and played dvds on my laptop so i had some entertainment!

Which is better?

Entering, and exiting the Yukatan - Straight run to SUV, but survivors and psycho's will load.

OR

Saving in the middle and quit loading - No survivors or psycho's loading, but time spent on the cart reaching the SUV.

Saving in the center for sure, it takes time off your game time for going into buildings, and also might give the chance for Leon/Snipers to appear, they didnt appear in my game as I just stayed out, used the save/load method, I didnt get 72k though but I'm for trying again saving every 1000 kills, as they do begin to thin out after that, I already tried it a bit and can get 1000 kills in round 40mins game time.

Also if anyone knows, does the Sports Fan outfit effect the amount of kills you get in anyway? I normally wear this as it gives increased speed and can drink anything for health points without getting sick.

Survivors and psychos caused me no problems at all when i played, but I personally think that it costs just too much time to drive the cart back. Like i said, I had 7 in game hours to spare when i did it, and i always went into the Yucatan, I only saved my game after every 10k

Not sure about the sports fan outfit, however, speed is good! I would say that if you notice that the zombies come after you like your a giant steak then your just fine using that outfit. On my play through i only got injured a few times and never got sick drinking the beers, so thats not really an issue

You're not really losing much time if you're saving in the middle and driving the cart back to the SUV. It's right around the corner from the save point, pretty much the same distance as the run from Yucatan to the SUV and you're still mowing down zombies on the drive back. I can get about 200 kills on my way back to the SUV using the cart.

And, yeah, remember to take off your ninja stuff. Like an idiot I forgot and they don't run at the vehicle. Honking the horn doesn't attract them either. Oh well I don't think it matters too much as I'm making good progress.

Edit: Forgot to thank you for taking the time to post this guide. Thanks!

Just got the achievement (my first attempt, woo!) :)

Boy did I screw up at the start though.

I decided to do main missions and katies zombrex so the military would arrive and fail, and my game would be extended for an extra day for the firebombing.

I used the bike with chainsaw method, and wore my ninja outfit all the way up to when the snipers appeared, and at that point I wasnt sure if I was even going to get the Z-Genocider 2:Genocide Harder achievement.

Finally started using the SUV and I used the save point instead of entering Yukatan because it made it easier to keep track of my kills (you save, your told the time, take as long as you want to count your kills, then quit load and you havent wasted any time looking) and the little cart doesnt do too bad a killing.

It may of just been me, but there seemed to be alot more zombies around when the gas came out.

Finaly got the achievement on day 5 at 4:00 AM (I believe if I hadn't screwed around at the start with the bike, I could have gotten the achievement, and finished the game with the S ending.)

The gambling magazines dont increase your chance of winning, they give you more money than you would normally win, so you will loose A LOT. I promise though, before long you will win 100k and 50k at a time and you will win more money than you loose.
You have that backwards. The magazines don't increase the money you get, they are supposed to increase how often you win. If you read the wall above the slots it tells you what each thing is worth. For example 3 bars is 5x so you will always get $5,000 back no matter how many magazines you have.

the magazines will allow you to be better at poker (more face cards), and they do increase the payout on the smaller machines (ones with cash infront of them will pay out 5 times in a row) but for the large machine, yes they dont increase the amount of money you win, just how often you do so :)

Thanks, I will re-word that part of my guide

Do the SUV kills add any PP? I know the bike does. If they do, the combat magazines would add 30%. The Horror mags add 50% to the acquired bonuses as well.

I know you wouldn't use that for a 72k run. Im just trying to lvl up.

Nope, SUV doesnt give any PP, but you level up extremely fast due the the PP bonuses for kill counts. If you wanna level up fast and your not trying to get this achievement you can grab the chainsaw from the maintence room to the right of the sex shop and put it on the dirt bike and that will give you +20 PP every kill. (I heard that there is a chainsaw on the very top of the stage too)

BTW, if you get Bargaining 1 & 2 the SUV keys only cost $1.6 million. Bargaining 1 is in Americana Casino (hop the lights to get the free zombrex - it's right next to that), and Bargaining 2 is in the Food Court on the rafters over some of the restaurants (hop on the vending machines near the Yucatan entrance to get up there).

If you are feeling lazy Bargaining 2 is extremely close to Slot Ranch anyways, and there isn't even a load screen between that and the Food Court, so you might as well grab that :p But Bargaining 1 doesn't take that long to get either.

Thanks! I heard of that somewhere, I was gonna look it up and put it in my guide, but then i figured that if these people wanna spend hours on the 20 gamerpoints that Zombie Genocide Master had to offer then they will more than likely want to spend 6 million dollars for another 20 gamerpoints.

Man I'll put it as simple as following to avoid creating possible TL;DRers.

1. LEVEL 50 + SUV KEY.

2. start a new story and go straight to SUV and start rolling.

3. save at the middle of the park every 2K kills.

4. If you are able to produce a 1K kills/hour progress, the achievement is easily yours.

Here is a kills count time checker.

Day 1 - 7pm - 10000 kills

Day 2 - 7am - 22000 kills

Day 2 - 7pm - 34000 kills

Day 3 - 7am - 46000 kills

Day 3 - 7pm - 58000 kills

Day 4 - 7am - 70000 kills

Day 4 - 10am - Game over.

ahead of these, you're fine,

behind by 1000 kills by Day 3,

should be still OK.

I finished with a little over 80000 kills.
