Introduction:

Welcome to my de Blob 2 achievement guide and roadmap. This game is a refreshing change of pace in where you play as a blob that can absorb paint and use it to restore color to monochromatic levels. The play mechanics are simple enough and anyone who has played a 3D Mario Brothers game will feel at home. This is also a pretty big game that can be completed in a single playthrough but there are a ton of collectibles to search for so you will probably replay a few levels. There are also score based challenges that can be retried as often as you need to. The achievements come at a steady pace of basically one per level. You will also get a few here and there while playing through and the remaining handful will unlock as you near 100% completion.

Step 1 - Play through Story Mode on Normal:

To complete the game in a single playthrough there are three things you need to know from the beginning:

  1. Start the game on Normal. This will give you the difficulty based achievement for beating the game. Each level is surprisingly big and will take an hour or so to beat, plus more time to find all the hidden items and complete the challenges. Each level is timed and this does become a factor starting with level 2. The way to tackle the game is to abuse the compass feature and head from one main objective to the next. While doing this you want to paint groups of houses to release citizens that you can then also paint. This will give you additional time. You can also defeat certain groups of enemies to gain more time. In the later levels, you really want to save the collectible hunting for later because once you finish the main objective the timer goes away and you can explore the level as long as you like.
  2. DO NOT upgrade during this first run. If you do it will prevent you from getting “Keeping it real" and require a second play through. It is possible to acquire this without a completely new run through the whole game. See the achievement description in the guide below for more detail.
  3. If you need to replay a level, EVERYTHING on that level will be reset (except lightbulbs and pictures). That means everything will be grayscale again, all enemies will be back, all medals will need to be recollected and your score for that level even goes back to 0. So you will have to do everything a second time if you don’t get the “S” Class on your first run.

With all that said, play through the story and get the main objectives out of the way. Get whatever time extensions you can, but try to focus on following the red question marks (those indicate where to start the next objective). Once you complete all the objectives in a level, you will have the option to continue on OR keep playing the current level. Choose to stay and now you will have unlimited time to complete challenges and find collectibles.

Because we are playing without upgrades this first time through, you may want to skip the challenges and collectibles until later. There are consequences for doing so though, so read below before deciding to do it.

Step 2 – Challenges:

BEFORE leaving the level you will be given the option to stay and explore. Choose to STAY. All the challenges will be shown as green question marks on your compass so do those first. Feel free to grab any collectibles you see along the way. Once the challenges are complete, any of the 3 gold medal objectives will be shown on your compass next. These are Liberation (a little brown guy symbol), Environment (a palm tree symbol) and Clean Up (an explosion symbol). Just use your compass to lead you to ALL of the ones that you may have missed.

Step 3 – Collectibles:

Once Step 2 is done and BEFORE leaving the level, hit the pause button and select “Progress”. The only thing left to get are the Inspiration items (lightbulbs), Gallery items (grey tablet with a picture on it and a paintbrush) and the Style items (purple swirls). It is important to note that the inspiration and gallery items are a one-time pickup. Once you get them, they are gone for good. Every other form of collectible will RESET if you replay the level again. That is why it is critical to not move on until you have at least everything but the lightbulbs and pictures. You do not HAVE to find all the purple swirls for any achievement, but they do count as bonus points toward your "S" class so it is a good idea to grab them all. Every point counts and that bonus may be just enough to push you over the limit. I have a guide to ALL the collectibles and it can be found here.

Step 4 – “S” Class:

Having completed Steps 2 and 3, the last component to worry about while playing the levels is the “S” ranks. These are score based ranks. All of the above counts toward your final score (except lightbulbs and pictures) so try to get all three gold medals, find all the purple swirls and paint as much of the landscape as possible. Killing enemies will also give you points but getting hit with ink will subtract points. The score is displayed at the top of the screen but it will drastically change once you complete the level and receive all your bonuses. For instance, you may have 400,000 when you talk to Pinky to finish the level but once you get to the score tally screen it will end up being 700,000 after bonuses. I have my scores, prior to the bonuses, listed at the end of each level's collectible guide. You can use that to gauge if you will receive the "S" class prior to ending the level.

If you are having trouble with an “S” class, you can spend some time and run around and repaint buildings. Each repaint will give you 10 points and you can do groups of buildings in seconds. It may not seem like much but the first time you miss an “S” rank by 1000 points (like me) you’ll know what I mean. Then you will wish you would have spent the extra 10 minutes to avoid having to replay the whole level again.

Step 5 – Mop Up:

Once you have finished the game and got the “Keepin’ it Real” achievement, you can spend your Inspiration points and max out your upgrades. If you are playing on Normal, you will need ALL the lightbulbs in the game to completely max out. The only thing left to do is replay any levels that you did not get 100% of the items or that you missed getting “S” class on. Oh, and play one level locally with a friend for the one 2 player achievement.

Conclusion:

The game is quirky and fun the first time through. Unfortunately the resetting of levels when you replay them really becomes frustrating toward the end. Having to redo an entire level again, seems a bit extreme to me when you are only missing one lightbulb. That is the only downside to what is otherwise a rather enjoyable game. It’s something different and that’s always a good thing.

Thanks for reading.

Possible Glitch Warning:

There have been reports of people not getting "Totally Inspired" and "Every Picture". It is unconfirmed but suspected that the problem comes from one or two things (or both):

  1. Changing the difficulty during the game.
  2. Finding an item you were missing and then quitting out of a level.

I've completed this on both the 360 and PS3 and have had no problems. I've played the game on Normal, without upgrades, twice and got both gallery and inspiration trophies/achievements at the end. I also played on a separate profile on easy with upgrades, to write the collectible guides, and got both trophies/achievements on Easy as well.

So what I KNOW is that the trophies/achievements can be obtained on either difficultly and with or without upgrades.

At this point, I can only speculate that the "glitch" is happening for either of the 2 reasons above. If those 2 are true, then the way to avoid the "glitch" is:

  • Pick a difficulty from the beginning and stay on it. If you play on normal and that gets too hard, delete your game and start over on easy OR use the upgrades and finish getting the collectibles (yes you will miss out on "Keepin it real" but you will get the two collectible trophies/achievements). DO NOT switch the difficulty to Easy via the options in game.
  • ALWAYS play a level to the end. DO NOT go into a level, pick up what you need, get to the next checkpoint and then exit out. ALWAYS play until you get the level saving screen AFTER the score tally screen.

Other players have stated that they did #2 as listed above and they then went back and replayed the levels that they quit out of and were still able to get the trophies/achievements so you may try that first.

Achievement Guide

"Paradise Island" level completed

Story related and cannot be missed.

This is the first level of the game and serves as a tutorial of sorts. The achievement unlocks once you get blasted out of the cannon at the end of the level and are brought to the mission select screen. The “S” rank score is 700,000 points and can be obtained by painting everything and completing all the challenges. You will get bonus points for having the gold medals for Liberation (freeing/painting all the citizens) Clean up (destroying all the INKT stuff) and Environment (paint the trees). You will also get a Style bonus for collecting the purple swirls so try to find all of those too. You don’t NEED them all but every little bit helps. Time really should not be an issue as I had over 36 minutes left the first time I played this level. A guide to the collectibles in this level can be found here.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1503/+QhJCA==.jpgINKT smasher - 50 :gsicon:

All Gold Clean-up awards completed

You earn this Gold medal by smashing all the INKT objects in the level. These are crates, statues, barrels, tanks, etc… Go ahead and smash anything you see. Once you have completed the main objectives of a level, Pinky will show up to take you to the next area. You also have the option to complete challenges. If you run around and complete all the challenges, your compass will then display the direction to any objects that can be destroyed that you missed. Simply follow your compass toward the “explosion” symbol until you have collected them all. Your progress can be checked in the pause menu.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1503/+Oixmw==.jpgKeepin' it real - 25 :gsicon:

All levels completed without upgrades

This one is missable (read below for a fix though). You need to play through the entire game without upgrading Blob at all. I started my first playthrough on normal and never upgraded anything and it popped at the score tally screen after the credits. The upgrades to avoid are the ones that you have to pay for either from the “Upgrades” option of the main menu or from within the game’s levels. The store is accessed in the game at the blue question marks. So basically do not buy anything the entire game and you will be fine. Obviously, this will make the game a bit more difficult but they are pretty generous with the checkpoints so it is not completely unmanageable.

It is possible to reset your upgrades from the main menu. So if you have played the first 2 levels or so and were using upgrades, you can go to the main menu, "remix" your upgrades, select none and then play through the rest of the game without them. You can then replay the earlier levels that you DID use upgrades on (as long as you remember which ones they are). The achievement will still unlock. Thanks to DeweyIsOverrated for the confirmation.

Caution: I've heard unconfirmed reports that you may not be able to obtain this on Easy. Since you start with 5 lives on Easy, that may be considered an upgrade.

Blob and Pinky played a level together

During a story level, plug in a second controller and press start, then any button. This can be done at any time and the achievement unlocks immediately.

Pinky's Guide to Inkies completed

From the main menu, scroll down to the bottom and choose Extras to find “Pinky’s Guide to Inkies”. As you meet new enemies in the game, their bios automatically get stored here. This will come naturally as you play through the story mode levels. The complete list is below:

  • Pinky
  • Paint Bot
  • Leech Bot
  • Blanc
  • Shepherd
  • Inky
  • Sergeant
  • Mortar
  • Heavy Inky
  • Elite
  • Spikey
  • Bomb Bot
  • Monster
  • Comrade Black

All story levels completed in normal mode

There are 12 levels to complete in story mode and you need to play on normal. This achievement will unlock after the credits once you finish the last level. A list of all the levels is below:

  • Paradise Island
  • Downtown
  • Blanctown
  • The Senate
  • Comrade Black U (State College)
  • Blanc Cola Cannery (Soda Falls)
  • Inktron Collider (Hydro Station)
  • Blanc TV Factory (House of Fun)
  • Prison Zoo (Orbital Habitats)
  • Inky Fabricator (Railyards)
  • Rocket Range
  • Hypno Ray

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1503/-NW+Fg==.jpgNothing but the best - 100 :gsicon:

All story levels completed to "S" class

You gain “S” class on the levels by reaching a set number of points. Points are gained by painting things (and repainting things), completing challenges, picking up color atoms, getting gold medals and finding the hidden purple swirl collectibles throughout the levels. Completion time is not a factor. If you don’t get the “S” class the first time you play a level, you can re-select it from the map screen and try again. Note that doing so resets the entire level (except for lightbulbs and pictures). I have my scores, prior to the bonuses, listed at the end of each level's collectible guide. You can use that to gauge if you will receive the "S" class prior to ending the level.

The “S” class score minimums are:

  • Paradise Island – 700,000
  • Downtown – 815,000
  • Blanctown – 950,000
  • The Senate – 1,125,000
  • Comrade Black U (State College) – 1,300,000
  • Blanc Cola Cannery (Soda Falls) – 915,000
  • Inktron Collider (Hydro Station) – 715,000
  • Blanc TV Factory (House of Fun) – 725,000
  • Prison Zoo (Orbital Habitats) - 975,000
  • Inky Fabricator (Railyards) - 740,000
  • Rocket Range – 915,000
  • Hypno Ray – 1,350,000

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1503/+XdV7w==.jpgNature Lover - 50 :gsicon:

All Gold Environment awards completed

You earn Gold Environment awards by painting trees. Before you talk to Pinky to advance to the next level, you will be given the option to run around, do challenges and paint anything you may have missed. If you do all the main objectives and then complete the challenges, the missing trees will appear as little palm trees on your compass. This makes it easy to track down the ones you are missing. Just take this time and use the compass display at the bottom of the screen to guide you to whatever you still need. Everything (except lightbulbs, pictures and purple swirls) is shown on the compass so there really is no reason to miss anything.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1503/5-zxatA=.jpgThe People's Hero - 50 :gsicon:

All Gold Liberation awards completed

You earn Gold Liberation awards by freeing/painting the citizens of the levels. Some are out in the open while others will only come out once you completely paint a series of buildings. Some only come out while you are doing the challenges per each level. If you do all the main objectives and then complete the challenges, these will appear as little brown guys on your compass (unless you missed some in a hole). This makes it easy to track down the ones you are missing. You can check your progress from the pause menu.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1503/5-42hk0=.jpgTotally inspired - 75 :gsicon:

Every Inspiration pickup collected or earned

Each level has Inspiration icons that look like a lightbulb. Some are out in the open and others are obtained by destroying objects or statues and by completing challenges. There are even some found underwater or in manholes. In the 2D sections make sure you press every switch and search for every breakable wall. It is important to note that there are some items found in the sections that you can only enter once. If you have searched everywhere, you may as well start the level again because the one you may have missed could be in one of these sections. You can replay the levels if you miss something and you can check your progress from the pause menu. I have a guide to all the collectibles and it can be found here.

There are 480 lightbulbs total and the number of items per level is:

  • Paradise Island = 40
  • Downtown = 40
  • Blanctown = 50
  • The Senate = 50
  • Comrade Black U (State College) = 50
  • Blanc Cola Cannery (Soda Falls) = 50
  • Inktron Collider (Hydro Station) = 40
  • Blanc TV Factory (House of Fun) = 40
  • Prison Zoo (Orbital Habitats) = 50
  • Inky Fabricator (Railyards) = 30
  • Rocket Range = 30
  • Hypno Ray = 10

Every Gallery pickup collected

Each level has Gallery icons that look like a picture on a grey tablet and a paintbrush. Some are out in the open and others are obtained by destroying objects or statues and by completing challenges. There are even some found underwater or in manholes. In the 2D sections make sure you press every switch and search for every breakable wall. It is important to note that there are some items found in the sections that you can only enter once. There are 100 pictures total and the number of items per level is:

  • Paradise Island = 10
  • Downtown = 9
  • Blanctown = 9
  • The Senate = 9
  • Comrade Black U (State College) = 8
  • Blanc Cola Cannery (Soda Falls) = 8
  • Inktron Collider (Hydro Station) = 5
  • Blanc TV Factory (House of Fun) = 8
  • Prison Zoo (Orbitat Habitats) = 8
  • Inky Fabricator (Railyards) = 8
  • Rocket Range = 10
  • Hypno Ray = 8

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1503/+JetfA==.jpgMaximum Blob - 25 :gsicon:

Blob and Pinky completely upgraded

I would recommend doing this after you have completed the game the first time. Just run through it without doing any upgrades first, to save having to do a second playthrough. See “Keepin’ it real” for more information. Once you have that achievement out of the way, you can buy the upgrades to help out while you are replaying the levels picking up anything you may have missed or skipped.

You can purchase upgrades with the lightbulbs you collect throughout the game. If you are playing on Normal, you will need EVERY lightbulb in the game to accomplish this and there are 480 total. The upgrade store can be found on the main menu under “Upgrades” and in the game itself. The stores found in the levels are denoted by a blue question mark.

Here are a list of upgrades and their cost:

  • Increase Blob’s starting lives to 2 – 5 bulbs
  • Increase Blob’s starting lives to 3 – 15 bulbs
  • Increase Blob’s starting lives to 4 – 30 bulbs
  • Increase Blob’s starting lives to 5 – 50 bulbs
  • Increase maximum size to 120 – 10 bulbs
  • Increase maximum size to 140 – 20 bulbs
  • Increase maximum size to 160 – 30 bulbs
  • Increase maximum size to 180 – 40 bulbs
  • Increase maximum size to 200 – 50 bulbs
  • Increase Player 2’s ammo to 100 – 5 bulbs
  • Increase Player 2’s ammo to 150 – 10 bulbs
  • Increase Player 2’s ammo to 200 – 25 bulbs
  • Increase maximum armor to 2 – 10 bulbs
  • Increase maximum armor to 3 – 20 bulbs
  • Increase maximum armor to 4 – 30 bulbs
  • Increase maximum armor to 5 – 40 bulbs
  • Damage charge cost to 60 – 10 bulbs
  • Damage charge cost to 40 – 30 bulbs
  • Damage charge cost to 20 – 50 bulbs

If you play the game on Easy, your reserves of lives will be completely maxed out from the start. That means you will not need to spend any lightbulbs in that category. So to get this achievement on Easy, you only need 380 bulbs instead of ALL of them. That allows you to skip 100 bulbs if you wish. You will still need all 480 for "Totally Inspired" though.

Secret Achievements

"Prison Zoo" level completed

Story related and cannot be missed.

This is the ninth level that unlocks in the game. Time is a factor on this level so first focus on getting through the main objectives as fast as possible. Then, before talking to Pinky to exit the level, you can go back and clean up the remaining challenges and find the collectibles. A guide to the collectibles in this level can be found here.

"Hypno Ray" level completed

Story related and cannot be missed.

This is the final level of the game and is slightly different from the rest in that you will not get the option to continue exploring it after beating the final boss. That means that you need to move quick AND collect everything if you are going for your “S” Class the first time through. A guide to the collectibles in this level can be found here.

The Boss is similar to Monster from level 10 but he can take 6 hits instead of 3. You will need to run around and hit the colored switches, make the paint trail on the floor, destroy the color hubs and finally pump some paint into the main generator. You will need to do this with each of the colors.

With each completed color, he will add more obstacles and enemies into the mix. Abuse the Haz-Mat and Regen power-ups. You can double up on them so always grab one if you are nearby. It will extend the time the power-up is in effect allowing you to walk through most of the trouble.

On the final round the boss will explode into a ton of smaller versions of himself. Simply grab a Regen power-up and start stomping them all out. If you start running low on paint, simply run away and allow it to refill or smash a nearby canister.

For Monster you will need to be quick and careful. First do not even bother trying to attack him directly. Instead, max out on the red paint (there should be 2 canisters behind him and then hit the red switch that is also right there. Now a portion of the floor will light up and you need to move Blob along every portion which will create a trail for Monster to follow. At the end of the trail is a floor trap and another switch. As soon as Monster makes it to the trap jump on the switch and he will be ignited with flames.

A portion of the floor will break away revealing ink puddles underneath. Avoid Monster while he tries to attack you again being careful to not fall off the back edge or in the ink. You will be randomly prompted to dodge with :abut: and duck with :rtbut:. Once he stops attacking you he will resume punching the pillars. Whichever one he is punching will determine what color you need to grab. Fill up with paint, flip the corresponding switch (you may need to wait for it to rise up) and follow the ground trail once again. At the fork in the road you want to stear AWAY from the shield power ups. They will just slow you down and you want to get to the next trap as fast as possible. This trap will take another third of Monster’s life away.

More of the floor will break away and Monster will attack again just like before. Now as you may have guessed, once he resumes attacking the pillars, grab the corresponding paint to lure him away. Follow this final trail and move as fast as possible. Go away from the shield power ups and just get to the final trap. Once he steps on it, light him up a final time. He’s toast.

This is also the first “boss” fight. As you make your way through the senate building, you will enter a room with 5 turrets rotating around a wheel. There will be 2 blue paint containers on the bottom level and a piston launcher on the left and the right. Simply fill up on paint, launch into the air and attack the turret mid-air. After they are all down, a lone soldier will walk onto the middle platform. Just launch up to him and kill him to exit the building.

You should obtain this easily on the first level. I honestly don’t know if you can even die on it. I don’t remember taking any damage at all the first time through. Just move through the lasers on the side scrolling sections carefully and you will get this with ease.

Completed 10 continuous piston jumps

On level 5, Comrade Black U, you will be prompted to use some pistons to get into Engineering. There are about 5 pistons above a courtyard. You will be able to lock on with :ltbut: and jump off with :abut:. Instead of going straight to Engineering, just stay in this area and make a second lap on the pistons. When you get close to landing on the final platform, just target the nearest piston and you will be pulled to that instead. Keep bouncing from piston to piston until the achievement unlocks.

Alternatively, at the end of level 5 there is a green challenge that unlocks once the timer has been stopped. This challenge will have you using pistons to go up and down a large set of stairs. You can make two laps easily here as well.

the collectibles are killing me. i wish there was some item to buy in the store or something that would put them on the radar. i always end up with one or two left and i can never find them. and i wish i had known about the upgrading beforehand. looks like i gotta do two playthrough's.

well im on lvl 5 havent upgraded so ok there but havent 100% collected eveything on a single lvl so gotta play the 1st 4 lvls again no matter what, even though i have S ranked em all so far. This could be a real grind and am looking at that 4/10 difficulty and thinking that could be way off.

Thanks for the comments and keep em coming as you progress. Honestly it only gets worse from where you are now. When I played thru it, I collected everything the first couple of levels but then went and just played through the story from that point on because it did start to get a little bit more difficult (without upgrades). After finishing the game, upgrading and then replaying the levels I've been missing stuff on, it is MUCH easier. Having more paint really does make a difference. That's why I suggest going thru the story objectives as fast as you can. Since you are so underpowered, you don't want to go out of your way getting stuff and possibly getting killed. Then once the main objectives are out of the way and the timer is gone, you have all the time in the world to hunt for stuff.

Maybe a better option is to suggest to do the "no upgrades" run on easy? Because the game is so BIG (surprisingly) I'm just trying to save people the trouble of multiple playthroughs. If you are playing on Normal and the game becomes too frustrating you can always upgrade midway through and just miss those 25 points (or replay without upgrades on Easy).

As far as difficulty goes, what are your thoughts then? I can't see higher than a 6. The collectible hunting is a total grind but it is not difficult just time consuming. I'd appreciate if you post back with your thoughts once you have finished the story mode.

And finally Collectibles. This is a tough one. There are 480 bulbs and 100 galleries. It was difficult writing the guide for the 200+ capsules in Toy Story and it's 100+ story mode collectibles. This is almost double. I've always done collectible guides and sometimes complete walkthrus for the games I do but I don't know how to write this one. I'd need some good feedback on how to even tackle it. I mean how do I give directions when the user can change the landscape SO much. I can't say turn left at the red house because it might be blue for you. I'd have to give directions from some base point that never changes. I'll try doing something for the first level and post it up for people to check out. Then depending on how well it is recieved I'll maybe move on to the rest of the game.

Right now I'm missing 3 light bulbs and 4 gallery pics. I plan on wrapping up that little bit today or tomorrow and then I could start a guide for the collectibles (maybe). Everyone needs to understand that it is a huge task and would take some time. I mean just playing thru the game has taken me 3 straight days. My time to 1000 may need to be tweaked as well. I'd like people to give me feedback on that too. It could vary WIDELY from one person to the next.

Thanks to everyone for the feedback so far. Keep it coming.

Tyger - This is a huge game that could definitey benefit from the Collectibles Guide Team resources. Any thoughts or plans on doing one? I saw the Bulletstorm work in progress in the "Guide Team" sub forum and that type of guide would be awesome here. It would just take alot of time! I mean I can write up something but I have no way of getting video or screen captures other than taking pictures of my TV screen with my iphone. Also how are you getting more than 5 images in a post? Is that a mod power?;)

Maybe we should start a new thread for Lightbulbs, Pictures and Purple Swirls?

I don't think a guide showing every bulb, picture and swirl is necessary. What do you guys think about having a discussion regarding "more difficult" locations? There are some items that are impossible to miss. We could just point out the difficult collectibles by level.

i.e. Level 1 - There is one Lightbulb during the final 2D sequence after you talk to Pinky.

This would have been helpful to know as I had collected everything but one Lightbulb on Level 1. I ran around for hours looking for that last bulb and finally just said EFF it. I went to chat with Pinky, walked through the door and started the final 2D sequence. Within a minute or so, BAMMMM, I had my final Lightbulb.

Credit to "Posk" on this next one. More collectibles to mention on Level 1 are inside one of the boats. There is a boat off by itself (not one of the 5 or 6 boats sitting together) that you can go inside. You stand on top of it, hit LT, and you can drop inside. I think there was a Purple Swirl and Lightbulb in here.

I vote for starting a new thread, reserve spots for each of the 12 levels, and drop the "more hidden" item locations for each level.

Thoughts?

Yeah it would totally be in a different thread. I've got no room here. I would then just link it up to the guide. I'm leaning toward the method Tyger used on his Spider-man collectibles guide. Each level would have it's own post and then there would be 1 stickied thread that would contain links to the twelve posts.

Here's a link to what he did and it worked out pretty good. EXAMPLE.

I'm also of the opinion that if you do a collectible guide they should all be accounted for. Mostly because "difficulty" is completely subjective and really depends on how you played the game and which direction you went through the levels. What might be "impossible" for me, you may have found totally "out in the open". Obvisously you could be more detailed on the difficult ones.

Hopefully we here back from some of the others and we'll get the ball (blob) rolling.

ok then just 100% level 5 & 6 they took me 2 hours each hunting the last damned bulbs :( always just one left and no idea where it is but what can happen is some bulbs are in the buildings u go into to liberate if u miss them then u can not get back in to get them, so u are wondering around looking for a bulb that u will never find :( so be carefull when clearing the building in missions look every where. As for doing a guide i would leave out all the ones u get at the end of levels as rewards for painting buildings etc...i would also leave out any that are in plain sight and only do the hard or hidden ones prolly 25 in each lvl

You could list at the top of each level's guide that 20 (or whatever) are obtained from completing the green challenges. Just one entry could cover all those but the total in the guide would still match the level total.

I'm on the fizzy cola level with the six large towers & wow that is not an easy level, at least time is not an issue i have 1 tower left to clear and 25 minutes. i have found 3 bulbs in the the towers so far which if i had missed u could not get em and not know where they are there. i have checked utube and no collectable videos are up, a tough 1000 i think only because of the bulbs the S rank is very easily achieved.

I'm not sure, but the 'no upgrades' achievement might not be missable.

In the main menu you can reset all your upgrades. If you do that you should be able to play the levels without upgrades and still get the achievement. Because it doesn't say you're not allowed to upgrade but only to complete every level without any upgrades.

You may be right but you would have to remember which levels you did with upgrades so you could go back to it afterward. If you test it out let me know it works and I'll update the guide.

Once I have 1k'd Bulletstorm I'm playing this, ill definitely use this guide.

1 thing, if I finish the game on normal without upgrading, I can go back and get the rest of the achievements?

That's correct.

If you run into too much frustratation playing on normal without upgrades, you can always just go ahead and upgrade, finish the game and the remaining collectibles/challenges and not get the 25 point achievement the first time through. Then if you want it, run through a second time on easy without upgrades.

Or vice versa - play easy first without upgrades and do everything else and then make a quick run on normal for the difficulty achievement.

I can confirm this works. I had played with upgrades in the first two levels before I saw this achievement. Go reset from the main menu and then replay the levels. I replayed the first two levels, finished the rest of the game with no upgrades, achievement unlocked.

what if you buy a bunch of upgrades, start a level, finish everything in the level, autosave at pinky, quit to the main menu, remove all upgrades, reload that level at the last checkpoint, and then finish the level.

could this work too?
