Welcome to the month of January. The holidays have been and gone, we all have hangovers from New Years Eve, and it's now a long time till the next lot of holidays. Joy! On the plus side, it's a new year which brings with it new challenges, and another 12 months for the site to continue to grow and bring you some exciting new updates that we have up our sleeves! Anyway, lets bring it back to Member of the Month. This guy has been trying to sneak in under the radar on the site, but he is always submitting Achievement Pictures and generally getting involved in the site, which is what it's all about. Some of you will recognise the name, some won't, but after this you will! Let me introduce......
Lets start by finding out a bit more about the man behind the GamerTag.
My name is Mike Martin, and I'm from Manchester KY, a little podunk town close to the Tennessee border. I'm a full time student at Somerset Community College majoring in Criminal Justice. Xbox takes up the majority of my time since it's all I do. I'm just really broke right now, or I'd have more games and hence, a higher gamerscore.
What is your gaming setup like?
My gaming setup: 26" HDTV, gaming chair from wally world, the one with the speakers in them, and of course, everything is wireless.
What is your favorite game on the 360?
My fav. 360 game: uhhhh...that's a tough one. It was Call of Duty 3 for the longest time because my internet sucks horribly bad, but now it's probably Dead Rising. It's just something about killing zombies with a lawnmower that gets me.
And the game that makes you scream?
The game that makes me scream: Gears of War. I bought it when it first came out and it kicked my ass. I feel like such a sissy when I play it because I die constantly.
What achievement are you most proud of?
The achievement I'm most proud of...is probably mile high club from COD4. I garuantee I played it for about 4 or 5 hours straight just to get it. I actually did a little dance after I got it.
Which achievement is the next on the hit list for you?
The next achievement will probably be something from March Madness 08. I just got a 10k gamerscore tonight from the game, so probably something from it. If not, then probably Rock Band.
What was the last thing you downloaded from the Arcade?
The last thing I downloaded from the marketplace was the Metallica bundle for Rock Band. I wish I wouldn't have, now, because it's hard playing drums on hard to "...And Justice for All".
Do you get games mainly for achievements, or for gameplay?
Here lately, I've been playing for achievements, but most of the time it's been a combination of both. I like to take in what the game has to offer as well as get achievements for it..
Is the 360 your only console currently? Do you have plans for any more?
I used to have a ps2, but Sony is garbage. It never did mess up on me, but the graphics are horrible. After I bought my 360 like a week after release, I never touched my ps2 again. I don't think I'll be buying any new consoles anytime soon, unless the 720 comes out next year or something.
Whats the next game that you will be getting?
The Next game I'm getting is Army of Two. I've got it reserved at gamestop, and I've had it reserved for quite a while.
And final comments…. I would like to say that I didn't expect to get this award at all. I was just doing what I thought was right by actually participating in site activities. I didn't want to be a freeloader with 1k+ posts and no awards. And besides helping out anyone in the gaming community is always good, no matter what it is.
