Welcome to the month of June... Ahhhhh, many things brighten up June... Whether it be the emergence of the sun, the fresh flowers that start to blossom, my birthday and another interesting Member of the Month. This month we are proud to present one of the more amusing members on the forums. Always has a witty comment or comeback but always inciteful as well. So I am proud to present no other than.... JonnyC, JC, Jonny.... And in a Jack Nicolson styly, "Here's Jonny!" Love, |
Lets start by finding out a bit more about the man behind the GamerTag. My name's Jon, and I'm 23 years old and live in Blacksburg, Virginia. I'm a former professional wrestler going from backyard to the pros where I eventually got injured and had to leave. I've been gaming for quite some time now, ranging from some Atari and NES to current gen consoles. I write and play music in my free time and spend a lot of time with my girlfriend. I also enjoy snowflakes on my nose, fuzzy socks, Kenny G, and fireside romance novels... |
What is your gaming setup like? I've got a 27" RCA Flat-Screen SDTV with a Pioneer Surround Sound system. The only system I currently own is the 360, and that's about it. Not the most lavish, but certainly nice. I've also got a couch. And there's a coffee table. Sometimes there's an empty soda can on the table. I've also got a window...and carpet. |
What is your favorite game on the 360? King Kong, hands down. Nothing pushes the limits like Kong. But If you want a serious answer, it would be a tie between Elder Scrolls IV:Oblivion and Guitar Hero 2. Oblivion is so deep and engrossing, I once forgot to shower for 19 days. Guitar Hero 2 is that game you can pop in for a few minutes with some friends and unleash your inner rock God. Both fantastic, and a very tough decision for me. |
And the game that makes you scream? Believe it or not, Gears of War. The game is amazing, don't get me wrong, but there's something about the online play that tears me apart. I'm probably the worst player to ever step virtual foot onto the battlefield. Either everyone I play against is on speed, or I have the skill of an armless 2-year old... |
What achievement are you most proud of? Probably the combined 500 and 300 orbs I've attained in Crackdown, equaling all 800 if you can't add. During the last few, I would hear the familiar sound of orbs in my sleep and would notice myself searching for them in the "real world". An incredibly near second would be activating the RS card in Madden 06, my right thumb will never be the same. |
Which achievement is the next on the hit list for you? Next for me will most likely be Guitar Hero 2, 5 star all hard and expert songs. I'm a couple songs away on each tier but have had to take a break for a while, my girlfriend says I'm cursing too much... |
What was the last thing you downloaded from the Arcade? I've had to boycott the arcade, long story, but let's just say I bought an insane amount of them and can no longer play them... |
Do you get games mainly for achievements, or for gameplay? The games I buy are for gameplay. I've really tried to resist the urge of buying games for achievements, and can honestly say I only rent those. However, I have played my share of bad games trying to amass pure score in the Gamer Score League here, something the old me wouldn't have done. In the long run that's alright since I've come to find that Cabela's Safari and Fuzion Frenzy 2 are some of my favorite games of all time. |
Is the 360 your only console currently? Do you have plans for any more? I only own the 360 right now, and don't plan on getting anything else in this generation. I'm working on a model car right now if that counts, and I've also got a strip poker plug-and-play that I always end up losing to... |
Whats the next game that you will be getting? I just got Forza 2, and my budget is suffering dramatically. I do plan on getting many future titles however like Bioshock, Mass Effect, Halo 3, GTA IV and many more. If anyone here would like to donate to the "Jon is poor as hell and needs more games/rent money fund", I would appreciate it... |
| And final comments…. |
For anyone new I would pass along the typical "get involved" speech. There is plenty to see and do here, and lots of cool people to meet along the way. I'd like to thank everyone for making this such a fantastic community, one I'm proud to be a part of! |
