Soulcalibur IV UK Pre-Order Bonuses

Soulcalibur IV UK Pre-Order Bonuses
Written Thursday, July 03, 2008 by Alan Pettit

Choose wisely, young Padawan.

(Get it? A Star Wars reference because Yoda is in the game! Man, I'm awesome.)

Ubisoft just announced that UK Soulcalibur fans will have two options for their pre-order goodies as both Play and GAME have a different bonus.

Those who opt for the game.co.uk pre-order will receive a metal case edition with bonus DVD and art book.

Those who go with play.com will receive a 360 faceplate.

Both cool in their own right, though I'd say the faceplate would be a more permanent bonus. No word yet if there will be any US bonuses, but Ubisoft is based in Europe so it makes sense for them to work that out their side of the pond first.

UPDATE: Apparently there is a US bonus from ebgames.com, but it is only a lame keychain. I also forgot to mention there is a special edition going to be available in the US, but it isn't a pre-order special, just a more expensive version, dubbed the "Tournament Kit."

I thought Ubisoft was French?

Anway, great pre-order bonuses - if I get it, I'll get the faceplate

Peace

Bah, I'd prefer having Darth Vader in the 360 version as well as Yoda or even instead of him. It bloody sucks only the PS3 gets him and we get "stuck" with Yoday. Granted we do get the secret apprentice as well which should help a little, but I still want Darth ;)

Yeah I know I spelled Yoda Yoday the 2nd time around and it was not intentional at all :P

that faceplate..is sweet! Ubisoft should make some pre-order bonus, because ive been thinking about getting this game, and it would make me want it more. Whoever said Darth Vader, I'd prefer him too. This game is looking sweet still no matter what.

This game will be published in the US by Namco Bandai. Only in Europe is it published by UbiSoft. So I wouldn't expect any additional bonus announcements from UbiSoft.

Namco is releasing a Limited Edition in the US, unsure if that is worldwide. Includes metal case, t-shirt, art book, tournament card.

Only pre-order incentive I've seen in the US is a keychain from Gamestop/EB.

if soul calibur is anything like spiderman 3 then in about 6 months they'll add darth as dowbnloadable content so just wait and see. chances are the star wars characters wont be that good anyway and will most likly have a very similar moveset.

Wow, that faceplace looks horrendous...

Only thing stopping me from preordering the tin is the price... Never like to pay full price for games (and they can shut up about it being £10 off, games are never sold for £50 in the real world).

Yep. Just checked the globe to make sure, and France is still in Europe. :) The faceplate is really cool. I wish we had something like this in the US, in addition to the Special / Limited Editions that will cost $20 bucks more.

I would definitely pre-order if I knew that I could get a faceplate like that

Wasn't the US getting a limited edition with a T-Shirt in it? I saw that a few months ago for certain. Whatever happened to that?

I already pre-ordered it at Game before I knew about the faceplate. Damn you, cruel hand of fate! Tin is still cool though.

THIS GAME IS GOING TO ROCK

Oh, and for those bemoaning the lack of Vader in our version, all reports suggest he is oddly slow and weak and doesn't fit the game at all. Personally I don't give a crap about either Vader or Yoda, this is Soul Calibur not Star Wars, but for those of you crying into you bowl of Golden Death Stars, it looks like we actually got the better deal on 360.

The faceplate looks awesome, but shouldn't there be a power button on it???!?

narcolepticshee are u stupid, Franch is in europe, Durrr thats why he said "Ubisoft is based in Europe", Also the ps3 also has the apprentice, and tere will proberly be a darth vadar/yoda download, because they have done it in the past with xboxplaystation exclusives

Just buy both. Keep the metal case and all that shit and keep the game. Go to the other place, pick up your game and faceplate, and then immediately return the game with receipt. You keep the faceplate, you don't have to give it back.

I agree with #23, if there is no power button then the faceplate is useless to be put on the 360. It will only be displayed by itself. This game looks great, but i just canceled the preorder here at gamestop. I don't think i can spend 65 dollars for a game i am going to play for only a few hours. I work at white castle with unbelievable hours, so i can only game for a hour or two each day. I feel that the money earned from the job is very hard to part with, so SoulCalibur 4 and Unreal Tournament 3 can wait a few months.
